Kids Day Out

After two weeks of being quarantined, we finally set Blu out into the world again and what a perfectly cheery and beautiful weekend to do so.

Mataura Plunket held an event for fundraising at Hamilton Park in Gore. We drove up to meet up with friends and had an absolute blast! Can't go wrong with train rides, bouncy houses, Mr. Whippy, and all the open spaces and playground things for the kiddies.

First "Monday" after a while tomorrow and seems like it's going to be a busy week (which probably would be the case in this remaining weeks of 2017 tbh) so bracing ourselves for the inevitable highs and lows that the lead up to the silly season brings.

Hope everyone had a great weekend, too!

P.S. Have been trying to deal with this story-telling dilemma for quite some time now. This video compilation stuff just might work? Guess we'll see. :)

The first half of this year has been pretty quiet and crazy hectic at the same time. I'm not even sure how that can be possible but it is what it is, and I'm just glad that the boys (even with their valid hesitations) and I are here for the ride. :) Not even hoping to get this blog up to date anytime soon but I'll try to add some bits here and there when I can.

New Zealand Secret Santa 2016

It's our fifth year playing this year; it did not disappoint!

Blu and Millie : NZSS 2015

Blu and Millie : NZSS 2016
We waited the whole morning for rural post to drive in, as he usually does, then thought he might have been too busy today due to Christmas presents influx so we went ahead and trekked to our mailbox. Wanted to enjoy every little bit of this sunny weather, too, anyway!

Sweet handwritten message in the card gave me such warm fuzzies! We also received a Photo a Day journal, a sweet blue bracelet with tassel and shell detail (profit went to charity!), and Whittakers chocolates to share with my boys.

I'm taking this as a sign from the Universe to take, and document!, more photos. ;)

Many thanks again to our #nzsecretsanta and the lovely NZ Post Secret Santa Elves! Xx

things I want : Mother's Day edition

Jasper will be leaving in a few hours for a 3-day trip to Ashburton ( I really should get some sleep). And though I will miss him terribly, I am very excited and super thrilled that I don't need to THINK of what to cook for three full days. There are still errands to run, and I plan on doing a bit of organising around the house, plus the two-year-old needs to be kept entertained, but a break in kitchen duties is such a wonderful gift. He doesn't even need to get me anything for Sunday anymore. I will be over the moon just to have him back here safe and sound. :)

That said, I like having and buying all kinds of stuff. Here are some on my "want!-how-to-justify-that-I-need-it" list right now.
